• Dr. Wilson currently accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, HMO, and Indemnity plans

  • For families using insurance, Dr. Wilson will work with you and your insurance company to help determine if any or all of the assessment will be covered by insurance

    • In such instances, families will be responsible for copays and any deductibles remaining as dictated by their plan​

  • BCBS covers neuropsychological and psychological assessments when deemed "medically necessary". 

    • For most PPO plans, there is no prior authorization required for proceeding with the evaluation, but it is important to confirm this with your insurance provider (particularly for out-of-state plans) and to confirm that the evaluation questions meet the criteria for medical necessity. Dr. Wilson will provide support through this process.

    • For most HMO plans, prior authorization is required for the assessment, and Dr. Wilson will submit necessary paperwork to obtain this authorization.

  • Academic testing and evaluations that are solely for academic purposes are not covered by insurance; however, academic testing is considered by to be essential as a part of the comprehensive evaluations that are provided in this practice, so there is an out-of-pocket academic testing/consultation fee for evaluations that are billed to insurance to cover this non-covered service. This fee varies depending on the grade of the child, and Dr. Wilson can provide you with an estimate prior to completion of this testing.

• If you have a different insurance provider than BCBS, then Dr. Wilson will provide you with an estimated fee for the evaluation. Some of this fee may be reimbursed by your insurance provider if you have out-of-network benefits, and Dr. Wilson will provide you with an itemized receipt to submit for such reimbursement. This fee may also be eligible for reimbursement through a health care flexible spending account.

• School consultation services (e.g., classroom observations, participation in IEP meetings) are not covered by insurance and are billed at a rate of $200 per hour. Dr. Wilson will provide you with a complete quote prior to completion of any procedure that may be an out-of-pocket expense.
